Sometimes children and families face challenges and may need extra support.
Early Help means providing support early, before problems become bigger, to help children and families thrive. At KSM, we put children at the centre of everything we do and work with the whole family.
We can support families by helping you access services like CAMHS, Barnardo's, NSPCC, Relate, Wiltshire Children’s Services, school nursing, speech therapy, and more. We also offer school-based support such as:

What is an Early Support Assessment (ESA)?
An ESA is a voluntary assessment that helps identify what support your child and family might need. It brings together you, your child, and the school to create a plan of support tailored to your needs.
What happens in an ESA?
-
We gather information from you, your child, and anyone working with your child.
-
We complete the ESA form to understand your child’s needs and what is working well.
-
With your consent, we share this information with relevant services to help provide the right support.
-
We create an Action Plan and regularly meet in Team Around the Child (TAC) meetings to track progress.
-
We refer to additional services if needed.
-
Once your child’s needs are being met, the ESA can close.
How can an ESA help my child?
-
Access the right services and support for your child.
-
Bring everyone supporting your child together for regular meetings.
-
Ensure you and your child have a say in your support plan.
-
Avoid repeating your story to multiple professionals.
-
Reduce the need for more formal children’s services.
