On 4th December, Blackbirds, Kingfishers and Hawks took part in an exciting stargazing event at school. The rain and clouds cleared just in time, and the evening was a great success! Our young astronomers had the opportunity to peer through telescopes and discover the wonders of the night sky — with the added bonus of hot dogs to enjoy!

The highlight of the night was seeing the craters on the Moon up close, a truly awe-inspiring sight! The children were also thrilled to observe Saturn and even spot a double star. There was plenty of excitement as they explored the planets, stars and galaxies far beyond our world.

A huge thank you to Bath Astronomers and to everyone who came along and helped make the event so special. It was a fantastic learning experience and a magical evening under the stars!

A quote from student Joshua:
"The stargazing event was excellent! We looked through a telescope and saw Saturn, The Moon and a double star. Then we went in a blow-up planetarium and saw the night sky, it was great fun. After that we used finger lights to make constellations in the dark. We had hot dogs and squash and then it was time to go home. I rate it 10/10!"
